Merry Tex-Mas Ya’ll!!
This year, I had wrapped up my holiday shoots but stumbled upon this cactus at Michael’s and well, it spoke to me. So, I had to dress it up for a little bar cart action. I immediately reached out to a colleague to create the colorful pom poms and tassel garlands to adorn this fun modern tree. And, then hunt was on to find additional pieces to complete the look.
One of my favorite concepts for a fiesta or southwestern theme party is to utilize terra cotta planters as serving pieces. Simply flip the base plate upside down and set on top of the upside down terra cotta pot for an amazing cupcake or treat stand. To coordinate with this year’s merry and bright colors, I simply spray painted the base pink, the bottom turned top white and added “Merry Tex-Mas” vinyl across the front. For a holiday twist to cactus cupcakes, I had the decorators add the sweetest little star to the top to mimic Christmas trees. Sometimes the smallest detail can drastically alter the look of a simple item; in this case, the star transforming a cactus cupcake into a holiday cactus cupcake.
For cocktails, I set up a mini margarita station with simple glassware, several tequila options and fun green acrylic cactus stirrers. You could totally have fun with this, offering a variety of mixers, flavored salts and recipes for signature drinks as well!
To add some additional color to the bar cart, I found amazing bright colored wrapping paper to cover varying sizes of square gift boxes. I alternated patterns and stacked 3 neatly to each side of the table. I find that addressing all visual areas of your party space offers the most appeal.
We wish you the happiest of holidays from deep in the heart of Texas!

It’s hard to believe that the New Year is almost upon us!!! If you have procrastinated inviting friends over to celebrate, not to worry….we are sharing 3 simple tips for throwing a last minute New Year’s Eve party on the fly, on the cheap and through a simple text message!!
3 Tips for Throwing a Last Minute, Budget Friendly New Year’s Eve Party
I loved the challenge of pulling together a gorgeous NYE party on a budget as an Evite influencer! All of the décor items shown in our “on the fly” party were sourced for less than $100!! To create your own New Year’s Eve party on a budget, follow our 3 simple tips:
1.Take Inventory of Supplies or Décor Items you Already Have
Before heading out to shop for party supplies, take a look around at what you might already have; table linens, leftover supplies from last year, plates, paper napkins, and holiday décor. If you have items available, use them as a jumping off point for your overall design look. We found a black table linen and white chargers, and used those items to build our table settings upon. As we headed out shopping, we looked for items to add to these basics.
2. Shop your Local Dollar Stores or Dollar Aisles at Major Retailers
I am always pleasantly stunned at the items I find in dollar bins or dollar stores. These rimmed plastic plates were an amazing find, as not only do they add a punch of color to our table, they are super easy for parties; simply enjoy then toss! Our champagne glasses were also a dollar aisle find, perfectly matching our table setting’s coloring. To pull the look together, we added pink tinsel garlands down the table’s center for a simple, $2 runner.
For our party goodies and sweets, we set up a small display table. To add some color and texture, we used a roll of holiday wrapping paper as a table runner. Simply measure the roll; cut and fold in half for a simple, affordable runner. Plus, you can use the excess to wrap holiday presents!
The backdrop was created using a hula hoop, spray paint, balloons and dollar store ivy. We spray painted the ivy metallic gold and then adhered it to the hula hoop in 2 layers using hot glue. We added a handful of pink and white balloons to the top and bottom of the hoop, also using hot glue to secure. Then, we added this fun bright pink script “Party” balloon across the center of the hoop, using small ribbons to attach at either side.
For a fun, budget friendly dessert, we opted for store bought cupcakes that we dressed up with gold confetti paper cups and pink honeycomb toppers. And, to add life to the party, we filled treat pop containers with colorful confetti and set out party blowers and hats for guests to enjoy.
3. Send your Invitation via Text Message
