Kate's 4th birthday party was her fairytale come true!! Her request....a Belle party. So, we delivered! With the recent release of the 25th anniversary edition of Beauty & The Beast, timing couldn't have been more perfect to play with this theme!! And, for those of us who remember the original movie release, it was super fun to reminisce.
Party guests were greeted in the yard by a hand painted, pink frame full of the most well known character silhouettes from the film.
Kate's dessert table pulled imagery from the film in coloring and deconstructed concepts. The custom made yellow table skirt played homage to Belle's stunning ball gown. Iconic character silhouettes were displayed in ornate, pink frames against a floral textured backdrop. To pull the pink coloring through the base of the table's design, we added a printable "Happy Birthday" banner from end to end.
Kate's two-tiered birthday cake created by Dessert Happiness also pulled inspiration from Belle's dress as the base tier with yellow swags and rose details. To keep the design simple and modern, our top tier was simple white buttercream and we opted for a single "4" gold glitter topper for personalization. Rose buttercream cupcakes, also pulling from the rose in the film, were displayed on stacked books. For added dessert variety, we also offered a gorgeous set of personalized sugar cookies; tea pots, Belle dresses and floral details.
Guest seating indoors was formal, with tables draped in floor length linens, white chivari chairs and stunning florals. The table was set using these ornate gold paper plates, using 3 coordinating, yet different patterns for visual interest and contrast. Two gold candlebras with florals around the base were displayed on each of the long guest tables along with a coordinating floral in between. For fun, we set Chip and Mrs. Potts cutouts in the room, which were also prime photo ops for party guests.
Throughout the party, guests were entertained with over-sized cardboard coloring castles, DIY princess crowns, Pin the Kiss on the Frog and of course, an appearance from Belle herself, along with her princess pal Cinderella.
Guests selected from among sweet hand mirrors or royal scepters as their party favors, inclusive for both genders attending Kate's party!
We hope you enjoyed, "Being our Guest" at Kate's 4th birthday party and that you gained inspiration for your next event!

FORE!! My dad is an avid golfer, competing in seniors competitions, tournaments and now playing a nearly scratch game consistently. So, it was especially fun to bring our printable theme to life with this golf party!!
The inspiration for the honeycomb backdrop was pulled directly from our invitation file and it also so happened to coordinate with the fun patterned paper plates from Oriental Trading. To add dimension and to pull more of the green color throughout the party's design, we used a 6' piece of green gingham as a table runner.
The centerpiece of our table was most definitely this clean & simple golf theme cake, complete with fondant golf ball and hole and personalized with a "16" pennant flag. To nod to the golf ball, we displayed these fun decorated sugar cookies on a silver tray in front of our cake.
Beverages were served in these fun keepsake golf ball cups and each guest took home a golf cart favor box filled with goodies. Attached favor tags read, "Thanks for Swinging By!".
We hope that you find inspiration in our simple, yet modern ideas! Happy Golfing!!

One of my favorite themes for Fall birthdays is the Lil Pumpkin, especially for 1st birthdays!!
When designing this party concept, we wanted to focus on traditional fall elements, namely pumpkins, rustic materials such as burlap, hay bales, dark woods and mason jars. The highlight of our dessert table was most certainly these putting pumpkin standees. For depth and contrast, we chose a chalkboard patterned paper roll as the base of our table's backdrop.
For softness and height, we anchored a 36” white latex balloons accented with boxwood garland on either side of the dessert table.
Drawing the eye downward, we used standard burlap linens dressed up with a fun, lit mason jar garland. We also used a large hay bale as a prop for one of our pumpkin standees. While we certainly love all of the sweet treats on a party’s dessert table, we also feel it is important to consider all aspects of the design, including above the table and below the table for the best overall look.
Our centerpiece dessert was this amazing, 3 layer pumpkin naked cake. While I am the first to vote for decorated cakes, sometimes the simplest options are the best choices for creating an overall design look. This cake not only looked perfect, it tasted amazing!!
For the birthday boy, we displayed a single pumpkin theme birthday party hat on an orange cake pedestal for the big photo op blowing out the candle.
For dessert variety, we displayed simple vanilla buttercream cupcakes topped with a single pumpkin candy on top of custom wooden risers. These risers are so versatile, giving just enough table height to distinguish a dessert without competing with other design elements.
Dessert was served on Little Pumpkin dessert plates paired with orange stamped wooden forks that were simply displayed in a single Ball glass jar.
One of my favorite things about a pumpkin theme birthday party is that you can often reuse décor elements in your own home’s fall decorating. The pumpkin standees would be perfect for dressing up a fall fireplace or even outside under a covered porch.
Happy Fall Ya'll!!
